Creating a Community from Scratch: A Conversation with Rehgan Avon

May 20, 2020 from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

About this Event

Building a community doesn’t just happen overnight. That’s why I wanted to invite Rehgan onto the webinar. In four short years, Rehgan went from an idea to bring together women in the analytics space to a 6,000 strong community with one of the largest women technology conferences in the United States. Her tenacity and drive has helped bring a voice to a typically undeserved part of the technology ecosystem. Rehgan will discuss how she started the organization, her career path, and why it’s more important than ever for brands to invest in analytics.

About Rehgan

Rehgan has spent her career executing on the fundamentals of developing and implementing data science and analytics products and solutions. She specializes in analyzing, assessing, and improving analytics processes and standards. She also evaluates analytics tools, solutions, and strategies to fit operational needs and requirements. Rehgan has worked with best in class organizations designing and implementing these standards. Her experience is grounded in working with early stage technology startup companies to build analytics software for the large enterprise. She is passionate about cultivating analytics and technology communities that are diverse and equitable.

She is the founder of Rehgan Consulting, a consulting firm. She is also the founder and president of Women in Analytics, an organization that provides visibility to the women making an impact in the analytics space and provide a platform for them to lead the conversations around the advancements of analytical research, development, and application. The organization has over 6,000 members and is one of the largest women technology groups in the United States. She previously was head of solutions at Mobikit. She serves on the advisory board of OhioX, Data Science for Women Summer Camp, and Franklin University, Master of Science in Data Analytics Program.
